Beekon is a Next.js web app that lets businesses watch website visitors live, with page and location, and call them in one click from a single script tag. QR codes let anyone call anonymously, with no app or account needed.

The Challenge

Most websites have no direct way to start a conversation with the people browsing them. Contact forms and chat widgets wait for the visitor to act, and phone calls usually require an app, an account or a number on both sides. Beekon set out to change that with two ideas: let site owners see who is on their website right now and call them in one click, and let anyone call a business anonymously by scanning a QR code. Callers would not install anything or create an account.

Our Approach

We built the product around a three-step promise: embed, watch, call. Setup had to be as light as possible, so a site owner adds Beekon by pasting a single script tag before </body>, with no SDK and no server setup. From there, the dashboard gives a live view of visitors with enough context to start a useful conversation. When the owner clicks Call, the visitor sees a small popup, accepts, and the call runs in their browser.

The QR flow follows the same logic. Create and print the code, someone scans it, and your phone rings. Privacy is treated as a core principle, not a later addition, and conversations stay with the people having them.

What We Built

  • Live Report: a real-time visitor list per site that updates as people arrive and leave, showing each visitor's current page and approximate location
  • One-click calling: voice calls started from the dashboard and accepted by the visitor through a browser popup, alongside live chat
  • Anonymous QR calling: printable QR codes or shareable links that let anyone call the owner without an app or account
  • Multi-site support: unlimited websites, each with its own live report and embed code
  • Single-tag embed: one script that works on the platform the site already runs on
  • Onboarding and plans: Google sign-in, a free starting tier, tiered pricing and an FAQ

More about this project

Technology

Next.js suits Beekon's two sides. It serves the public marketing site, and it powers the signed-in dashboard where visitor lists and calls need to feel instant. Cloudflare provides a reliable delivery layer for the embed script and the app, which matters for a product that runs on other people's websites. Claude and ChatGPT were part of the project's toolkit. Together, this stack keeps the product lightweight to install and quick to respond, which is what a "call them while they're there" experience depends on.
